SEMINOLES PUT AWAY HATTERS 3-0
Florida State once again defeated an opponent by a 3-0 score, as the Seminoles topped Stetson 3-0 at at the Seminole Soccer Complex, Friday night. FSU also defeated Elon College by the same score the previous match (10/5) in Elon College, NC. The Seminoles earned their third shutout of the season off a high-powered offensive output and a stiffling defense. FSU outshot the Hatters 32-1, zero shots allowed in the entire second half. Although the Tribe had nearly a team-record shots on goal and a season-high at best, no score was recorded in the first half. At the 50th minute, the 'Noles scored the eventual game-winning goal when Angela Bonaffino scored off a free-kick, unassisted. Team-leader Alex Osorio, who suffered a minor injury near the start of the contest, but returned to action soon after, scored from the right post off of a pass from Lauren Lynch in the 73rd minute. Veteran Jessica Driscoll finished off FSU scoring in the closing of the match from a pass by freshman Stephanie Dietrich.

OSORIO SURGES TO THE TOP
Alex Osorio led the team in 1995 in points (15), goals (6) and assists (3). She then finished tied for fifth in 1996 with just nine points overall points off of three goals and assists. After 12 games into the current season, Osorio, once again, leads the team in points (11) and assists (5 and is tied for second in goals (3). She is also the program's all-time leader in points scored (36) and in assists (11). Perhaps her biggest feat is appearing in every match in program history, 51 total with 48 starts. Only Janine Lavoie can equal that feat, she has the same appearance streak, but with 50 starts.

WALKUP CONTINUES SOLID PERFORMANCE
During the 1995 and 1996 season, nagging injuries hindered the performance of Janna Walkup. During '95, she missed four of FSU's 19 overall matches, while starting 15 of 17 she appeared in. The 1996 season saw Walkup miss another three matches, but starting all 17 she appeared in. So far this season, Walkup has appeared in all of FSU's 12 matches, while starting 11. She is second on the team with nine points, leads the team in goals (4) and game-winning goals (2). Her game-winning goals came in home matches against Wofford and South Alabama. She is also tied for fifth all-time with Grimsley in overall points scored (19), having scored six in '95 and four in '96.

FORD SETS SINGLE GAME RECORD
Junior transfer Jill Ford set a single-game record when she tallied 10 shots on goal by her lonesome in a 3-0 shutout of Stetson. Stetson goalkeeper Genevieve Roy was kept busy recording 12 saves total in FSU's season-high 32 shot effort. Ford places fifth on the team with two goals off of 19 total shots. She scored against Wofford and NC State

QUICK NOTES...
FSU's five game losing streak was their second longest in program history having dropped the final eight matches of 1995...the Seminoles non-conference record is 19-9-2 all-time, 5-2 in '97...Osorio's five assists this season is already second most in a single season, Kasey McCall had six in '96...just one player, Lauren Lynch, has started every match this season, least ever amount of players in a single season...Janine Lavoie has missed just one start in the program's 51 all-time matches.
