Game Notes

Florida State is 7-0-1 against North Carolina in the all-time series...FSU defeated UNC 13-0 last year in a steady rain in Tallahassee, the second straight year the two teams played in the rain...the Tar Heel defense held the Seminole offense to its lowest point total in four years...the game featured the nation's No. 1 and No. 2 rated defenses...it was FSU's first shutout since a 17-0 blanking of Clemson in '94...Dexter Jackson blocked two punts while Peter Boulware and Greg Spires combined for five sacks in the game...the Seminoles have held UNC to less than 14 points in four of the last five meetings...the Tar Heels have made five consecutive bowl trips...
