Florida State has won five consecutive meetings with Blue Devils since entering the ACC in 1992...the Seminoles hold a 5-0 series record vs. Duke...Bobby Bowden owns a 5-2 career mark against the Blue Devils (both losses came while at West Virginia...Duke totaled just 91 yards of offense on the Seminoles last season, the least by an FSU opponent in 1996...the Tribe has averaged 53.2 points per game in the series, and have defeated the Blue Devils by an average margin of 37 points...the Seminoles will travel to Durham for the first time 1993 after the two teams played a Duke home game in Orlando's Citrus Bowl in 1995...the Blue Devils list 17 Florida natives on their roster, while FSU does not have a single player from the state of North Carolina...Duke head coach Fred Goldsmith is a native of Coral Gables and a Florida graduate...Goldsmith coached at five Florida high schools, served as a graduate assistant at Florida ('71) and was the defensive coordinator at Florida A&M in Tallahassee for five years.
