Nov. 23, 1997 Florida State Basketball Makes ESPN/USA Today PollTALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Florida State men's basketball team is ranked 25th in this week's ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. The Seminoles have won three straight games to open the season. This is the first time since the 1993-94 season that FSU has been ranked in the nation's Top 25. Florida State was ranked 25th by Associated Press and 24th in the CNN/USA Today Coaches in preseason polls that season but dropped out before playing a game. The Seminoles next play on Wednesday in the semifinals of the Chase Preseason NIT against No. 12 Connecticut in New York's Madison Square Garden. A win would put FSU in the championship game against the winner of Wednesday's other semifinal final between Kansas and Arizona State on Friday.
