Florida State Men's Basketball has Garnet and Gold Game

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. -- The Gold team, led by newcomers Terrell Baker and Karim Shabazz, surprised the Garnet squad in a 97-94 overtime win at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center.

Baker, a junior guard from Lawnside, NJ, scored 26 points and five assists, while Shabazz, a freshman from Queens, NY, tallied a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds.

In the overtime period, Baker hit a three-pointer with 42 seconds remaining to give the Gold the lead for good at 95-94. Baker and Oliver Simmons added a free throw apiece to extend the lead.

Senior guard LaMarr Greer led the Garnet in scoring, hitting 12 of 19 for a game-high 27 points. Point guard Kerry Thompson, a senior from New York, NY, had 11 points and five assists. Corey Louis and Randell Jackson added 17 and 22 points, respectively.

The next exhibition game for the men's basketball team will be on Friday, November 1st at midnight in Tully Gym against the Around The World All-Stars. Admission is free to the public.
