TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Several Florida State University indoor volleyball student-athletes were honored on Sunday afternoon with the team's year-end celebratory banquet at the Florida State Varsity Club in the Coyle E. Moore Center.

The Seminoles finished the 2012 season with a 28-4 overall record while earning back-to-back Atlantic Coast Conference titles. Florida State is one of just three programs in the nation to finish with 28 wins or better in the last two seasons and also went 18-2 in conference play for the second straight season.

Florida State's banquet, normally held in January or February, was pushed up to a week after the season ended to allow senior Duygu Duzceler to be part of the event. The setter from Istanbul, Turkey will complete her final exams this week and graduate in December before heading back to her native country.

Duzceler is part of a senior class that includes outside hitter Fatma Yildirim, middle blocker Sareea Freeman and right-side hitter Marija Milosavljevic. The senior class, which combined for 109 victories at Florida State, was honored for their outstanding performance through the years.

Yildirim, who ended her career as an all-conference and all-region performer, received the Most Influential Player award for her immense dedication and leadership abilities. Named a co-captain at the beginning of the season, Yildirim was praised for her excellent work habits and incredible diligence.

The Istanbul native spent her career as an All-ACC Freshman pick in 2009 before getting log-jammed behind two All-America outside hitters in Visnja Djurdjevic and Jekaterina Stepanova in 2010 and 2011. Yildirim, however, stayed committed and put forth an excellent senior season with good character to help win her the award.

Yildirim joined Milosavljevic in winning the Seminole Warrior award presented by strength and speed coach Caitlin Quinn. Both players were recognized for their year-round commitment toward bettering themselves in areas of strength and endurance. Quinn praised the entire team for its willingness and enthusiasm toward a commitment to physical excellence.

Tying into Milosavljevic's first award was the Total Commitment award, which she won because of her great devotion to the sport. The Bajina Basta, Serbia native defined the principles of the award which include dedicating oneself to the program without being influenced by distractions.

Freeman was given the Ultra Competitive award, honoring her for showing the will to win even in the face of adversity. The Fresno, Calif. native had a tremendous senior season that was highlighted by her nationally-ranked .438 hitting percentage and being the team's go-to player. Boosted by the setting of sophomore Sarah Wickstrom, Freeman found ways to provide a crucial kill or block through the 2012 season.

Redshirt sophomore libero Katie Mosher earned the Complete Trust award. The Fort Myers, Fla. native once again showed she was a teammate who could be relied upon on the court and off the court. Mosher's 495 digs this season were the fifth-most in school history, as she now owns both the first and fifth single-season spots. Mosher was a co-captain and a proven leader who still has two years of eligibility left.

Freshman outside hitter Leah Mikesky redshirted this season but managed to win the Maximum Effort award because of her relentless pursuit each day. The Schulenburg, Texas native is known as arguably the most athletic player on the team with a lethal attack that bodes very well for Florida State in the near future. She joined fellow redshirt Sarah Burrington in helping the Seminoles become a better overall team by challenging the starters in every practice.
