TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Following a 3-1 home campaign over the last two weeks, Florida State volleyball hits the road again as it heads to Virginia to face ACC opponents Virginia Tech and Virginia. The Seminoles enter the weekend with a 12-7 overall and 4-5 ACC record and have their work cut out for them against the 16-4/7-2 Hokies on Friday, Oct. 24, before heading to Charlottesville to meet with the Cavaliers on Saturday.
FSU dropped a tough 3-2 loss to North Carolina on Oct. 17 before taking down NC State on Oct. 18 in Tully Gym. The Garnet and Gold, which leads the all-time series against both teams, has just one opportunity this season to beat Virginia Tech and Virginia with this weekend being the only scheduled meeting between the teams.
"Virginia Tech is playing with a tremendous amount of confidence right now," Seminole head coach Chris Poole said. "We know that we're going to have to really play hard.
"We're looking for the girls to be really disciplined with everything we do over the weekend. We know both teams are going to be tough on their home court. We just need to stay consistent and play with confidence, but continue to play aggressive."
First serve for Friday's match at Virginia Tech will be 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast live online through ACC Select.
