TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - The 12th-rated Florida State indoor volleyball team looks to continue its winning momentum as it goes back on the road to face two conference opponents in upstart Boston College and Maryland this weekend.

The Seminoles (14-2, 6-1) battle the Eagles (12-11, 4-3) on Friday, Oct. 12 in Chestnut Hill, Mass. at 7 p.m. Florida State finishes the weekend taking on the Terrapins (10-16, 2-5) in College Park, Md. at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

"Both of those teams have improved a lot over the last couple years," head coach Chris Poole said. "Boston College is coming off beating Duke at Duke and that's a huge win for them, and their coach is doing a great job with their program. He's made them a team that is competitive and dangerous and you have to play to win.

Both matches can be followed on CBS GameTracker off the Seminoles.com website, while Sunday's match at Maryland will be webcasted on TerpsTV All-Access with a paid subscription needed to watch the match.

"Maryland is a program that over the last couple years has brought in a lot of new players and has really made strides in being very competitive. Any time the team is on the road you deal with a lot of obstacles and distractions. We're going to have to be ready to play."

Florida State leads the all-time series over BC by a 13-1 margin and has won eight straight against the Eagles. Both teams met just once last season as Florida State went on the road and defeated BC in three sets.

The Seminoles are hoping to continue their efficient offensive attack, averaging a .331 hitting percentage over the last five matches. Both middle blockers Sareea Freeman and Ashley Neff have starred for Florida State, with Freeman recording 52 kills and a .575 hitting percentage in that span while Neff shows 52 kills and a .500 clip in the last five matches.

Freeman was rewarded for her strong play as she was named the ACC Co-Player of the Week on Monday. She is one of many options Florida State can go to offensively, as senior outside hitter Fatma Yildirim (165), junior outside Olivera Medic (141), Neff (122), Freeman (122) and Marija Milosavljevic (102) all have over 100 kills.

The Eagles have enjoyed a rejuvenated season, holding their own in conference play. Last weekend, BC went on the road and defeated Wake Forest in four sets and swept Duke, and also defeated Virginia on Sept. 27. Freshman outside hitter Katty Workman from Thousand Oaks, Calif. leads the conference with 4.22 kills per set and is 32nd nationally.

BC also has two setters in the Top 10 in the conference in assists per set. Sophomore Kellie Barnum and junior Cagla Sen have both made the Eagles a formidable offense this season.

Florida State redshirt sophomore libero Katie Mosher is enjoying another good year, averaging 4.32 digs per set. Her consistent passing throughout the season has helped jumpstart the Seminoles' offense while her exceptional digging has contributed to an opponent hitting percentage of .162 that is tied for second in the ACC.

Maryland is coming off a pair of road losses at Duke and Wake Forest last weekend. The Terrapins own a quality win over Ohio State on Sept. 1, sweeping the Buckeyes in three sets.

Sophomore middle blocker Adreené Elliott has been a force for Maryland, hitting .401 and averaging 1.12 blocks per set as both marks rank in the Top 10 in the ACC. The former ACC All-Freshman Team member combined for 24 kills last weekend against Wake Forest and Duke.

Maryland leads the all-time series against Florida State 23-20. The Seminoles have won seven of the last eight matches against the Terrapins, with the exception being a five-set loss on the road in 2010. Last year, the Seminoles won in College Park in four sets behind 28 combined kills from All-Americans Jekaterina Stepanova and Visnja Djurdjevic.
