TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  – The Florida State indoor volleyball team finished its spring season on a high note by winning four-of-five highly competitive sets against Florida on Friday at Tully Gym.

“We ended up winning all our matches this spring,” head coach Chris Poole said. “Although we know that spring is about experimenting with your team and learning more about the individual players.  Therefore, it is always difficult to put too much weight on the spring matches win or lose.  We are excited about the future of the program and believe that we will only keep getting better.”

The Seminoles won all four of their sets by two points, taking the first 29-27, second 26-24, third 25-23 and fifth sets 25-23. Florida took the fourth set, 25-17.

Rising junior Nicole Walch led the Seminole attack by recording 17 kills, while rising redshirt sophomore middle blocker Sarah Burrington swung for 10 kills (.389 percent).

Newcomer outside hitter Milicia Kubura was also a factor on the attack, hitting 16 kills for .609 percent.

As a team, the Seminoles were credited with 10 blocks.

“We've had a great spring overall,” Poole said. “It is one of the most productive springs we have ever had.  I think a lot has to do with the maturity of the team over the past six months.  We played a lot of young players last fall and you would expect them to continue improving.  They have all worked hard this spring and made progress.”

The Seminoles will continue their spring play on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. with a scrimmage against the FSU men's club team/alumni players.
