TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State indoor volleyball wasted no time getting back on the court following a historical 2013 season, as it gets ready to host LSU and South Carolina in an all-day event on Saturday at Tully Gym.
“Spring is a great time to try different line-ups, put players in pressure situations and evaluate how individuals are improving,” head coach Chris Poole said. “Since the matches do not count for a record, it gives us more flexibility to try different things and see how it works out in a game type atmosphere against an opponent.”
All three squads will play eight full sets as well as two sets to 15 points, equaling out to two five-set matches. The teams will first play a pair of full sets and one 15-point set against each other before competing again in two more full sets.
Florida State will be on court against South Carolina at 9:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. In addition, the Seminoles will play LSU at 11:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.
The event schedule is as follows:
Two - 25 point sets / One - 15 point set
Florida State returns Sarah Wickstrom, Katie Mosher, Sarah Burrington and Nicole Walch from the 2013 starting lineup. The Seminoles will look to fill a few holes following the departures of Elise Walch, Ashley Neff and Olivera Medic.
The event is open and free to the public. FSU will also host Florida in an exhibition on March 21. For more information visit Twitter and Facebook.
