Oct. 26, 1997 Women's Volleyball Tops ClemsonCLEMSON, S.C.-Six Florida State Lady Seminoles tallied double-digit kills as the Tribe defeated Clemson 5-15, 15-6, 15-5, 20-18 to improve to 19-5 overall and 6-4 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. With the loss, CU is now 19-4 and 7-4 in the league. For the second straight match, junior outside hitter Holly Schneider led the squad with 18 kills and 22 digs. Junior middle hitter Susan Hawks had an excellent outing, hitting .355 off of 13 kills. She also tallied nine digs and five blocks. In just her second match back from injury, setter Fiona Bolten recorded 65 assists, 20 digs and led the team with a .500 hitting performance off of 10 kills, one error and 18 attempts. "This was a big win for us," FSU head coach Cecile Reynaud said. "This should help build our confidence with North Carolina and NC State coming in this weekend. It also helps in terms of keeping us toward the top of the conference."
