Seminoles Swept By Huskies 3-0 At Long Beach State Tournament

Sept. 8, 2007

Final Stats

Tallahassee, Fla. - Coming off a disappointing loss to in-state rival Florida, the Florida State volleyball team suffered its second straight upset to a top-ten ranked team, falling to No.8 Washington 3-0 (17-30, 15-30, 28-30) on Sept. 7 at the Long Beach State Tournament.

Leading the Seminoles was sophomore Brianna Barry (Winter Springs, Fla.) who had 10 kills (.412 pct), four blocks and 12.5 points.

The garnet and gold built up some momentum heading into game three as they made a move on the Huskies. A kill by Barry moved the score to 25-28, but were held off as a kill by Washington's Christal Morrison won the match.

Florida State plays its final match of the tournament against host Long Beach State on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 10:00 p.m. PST. The first home match against a conference team will be Friday, Sept. 14, against Miami.
