At Florida State: Veteran Erica Bunch, an explosive outside hitter, will look to use her power to contribute to the Seminole squad as she enters her fourth season at FSU…with outstanding performances against North Carolina and NC State, Bunch earned ACC Player of the Week honors during the 2001 season…named the ACC Player of the week after strong showings against Georgia Tech and Clemson as a sophomore.
Senior Year (2002): Crawfordville native Erica Bunch, the first local player to sign with the Seminoles, was a force in 2002...participated in 33 matches during the season...earned all-tournament honors at the ACC Tournament after recording 59 kills, 17 digs and a .272 hitting percentage...named to the Florida International Tournament all-tournament team after recording 43 kills and hitting .351 over the span of three matches...was second on the team in kills with 452...ranked first on the team and sixth in the conference in kills per game with 3.62...led her team in attacks with 1,071...finished the season with a hitting percentage of .263...was fourth on the team with 64 total blocks...had a career-high against Clemson November 22nd...recorded double-digit kills in 26 matches...notched double-digit kills in 12 consecutive matches, which was a team high on the season.
Junior Year (2001): Saw action in 26 matches...finished strong averaging 3.15 kills per game and 2.77 digs per game...set a career high hitting percentage at .800 on 20 kills in 25 attempts with no errors against the NC State in the final regular season match…second on the team with 11 double-doubles...had double-digit kills in 17 of 26 matches...achieved career-high numbers in digs with 19 against Virginia and North Carolina...tied a career-high in service aces with three against Florida A&M...ranked third on the squad with 3.15 kills per game and second in digs per game with 2.7...holds the longest consecutive match streak with at least 10 digs over an eight match span...three times during the season, Bunch accumulated four blocks, against North Carolina, Florida A&M and Duke.
Sophomore Year (2000): Battled with an early season injury which caused her to see limited action early...played in 21 matches and 70 games and notched 178 kills...reached double-digit kills eight times, and reached the 20-kill plateau twice, including the Seminoles match against Georgia Tech, in which she had 20 kills and hit .340 to help the Lady Seminoles to a 3-1 victory...ended the season with three straight double-digit kill matches (16 vs. Clemson, 20 vs. Georgia Tech and 15 vs. Duke)...hit .300+ in three of her last seven matches, including .340 and .366 percentages to round out the regular season...had a season-high hitting percentage of .625 with six kills against Florida A&M...had a season and career-high 23 kills against Virginia, when she hit .308 along with 12 digs...notched 10 digs twice during the season, vs. Clemson and at NC State...averaged 1.87 digs per game and 2.54 kills per game…tallied 15 kills and a season-high 14 digs in the ACC Tournament against Duke.
Freshman Year (1999): Started at the outside hitter position and played in 30 of the season’s 31 matches…ranked fourth on the team in kills with 244...second on the team with 20 service aces...tallied double-digit kills in 11 matches, including a career-high 16 kills vs. Virginia...had her first career collegiate double-double in first match with 13 kills and 16 digs vs. Auburn...also recorded a double-double vs. Virginia (16 kills, 13 digs), Jacksonville (10 kills, 10 digs) and Clemson (10 kills, 14 digs)...had five blocks assists in the match vs. Virginia...third on the team with 198 digs...best outing was a .480 hitting performance vs. South Carolina.
High School: Earned all-state honors as a junior and senior...named the 1998 Big Bend Player of the Year...was a four-time first team All Big Bend selection...garnered team Most Valuable Player honors three times...received numerous all tournament team honors...led the conference in kills and service aces three straight years...played basketball one year...played in the Big Bend and Wakulla Clubs.
