The Seminoles will stay in Florida to play in their last fall tournament

TALLHASEE, Fla. - Florida State will travel to Miami, Fla., to compete at the Miami Invitational November 7-9 for their last fall tournament of the season. Miami will play host to players of two other in-state rivals, Florida International and University of Central Florida.

"Over the last two months of training, the girls have done a tremendous job both on and off the court," said assistant coach Oliver Foreman. "The Miami Invitational finalizes the fall schedule giving us one more opportunity to keep getting better and learning from tough matches."

Matches will be held at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in Coral Gables consisting of a round robin tournament with no brackets. November 7^th will hold singles matches both at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. and doubles at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 8^th will have 10 a.m. doubles matches and 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. singles competitions. The final day of the invitational, Sunday, November 9^th, will entail 9 a.m. singles and 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. doubles matches.

Florida State will face four singles ranked opponents from Miami and FIU and one ranked doubles team from Miami. The Seminoles stand at the top of most ranked players competing at the invitational with No. 40 sophomore Katie Rybakova, No. 53 junior Lauren Macfarlane and No. 113 sophomore Federica Suess while also having Rybakova and Macfarlane ranked No. 40 in doubles.

"In today's practice there were some last few reminders about what to expect down in Miami and what we as coaches expect from our girls," said Foreman. "Our focal point for this weekend will be `tough situations don't last, but tough people do.' With that being said, we hope to come away leaving the teams down there with something to think about when we return in the spring to compete against them."
