TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – After an exciting weekend of tennis at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, two of Florida State women’s tennis players will take their game to the 2009 ITA National Intercollegiate Indoors next weekend. No. 24 Noemie Scharle and No. 28 Katie Rybakova made Seminoles history Thursday afternoon with the announcement of their at-large bid selections that qualifies them to compete in the singles draw at the championships November 5-8.

Host Yale University will welcome 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams to the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center in West Haven, Conn. A mandatory consolation draw will be played for those who lose in the first round.

Scharle and Rybakova are two of twelve at-large bids accepted in the singles draw.

As the only Seminole to travel to last year’s championship, Rybakova looks to better her 2008 performance where the Seminole fell in the first round of singles and later lost in the first round of the consolation draw.
