ATLANTA, Ga. - The 19th-ranked, and third-seeded Florida State women's tennis team defeated the sixth-seeded Virginia Cavaliers today, 5-1, to advance to the semifinals of the ACC Tournament.

All five winners for FSU went the distance against their opponents. Freshman Alida Gallovits at No. 1 and sophomore Nanette Duxin at No. 2 each rallied to win after losing the first set. Gallovits clinched the match for the Seminoles, who were up 4-1 when she ended the Cavaliers hopes by defeating Paige Boiko, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Freshman Marina Raic won her 30th match of the year against UVA's Amy O'Donnell, the second time this season Raic has defeated O'Donnell. FSU's Ali Weber, a 1999 ACC Flight Champion at No. 6 singles, won in three sets to improve her record to 7-2 this season at No. 6.
Florida State will await the winner of (2) Wake Forest and (7) Clemson.
