Dec. 18, 2000
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The men's and women's Swimming and Diving team wrap-up the first half of the season at Ft. Pierce, FL with the Indian River Community College Relays. This is the second meeting between both teams this year. The women's team defeated the Pioneers 177.5 to 65.5 behind strong performances from Christy Cech, Kristen Adams, and Keryn Krynauw. The men came up short, despite strong performances from Greg Main-Baillie and Richard Cowling, 124 to 119.
The men come into this meet with an overall record of 3-4 (1-0 ACC), while the women hold a 4-2 mark.
Coach Neil Harper feels that the season has been a successful one for both the men's and women's team. "We have swam against some high ranked teams this season," said Harper. "Our men and women have faced some great competition and have gained valuable experiences through these meets. I can definitely see the team growing after each meet."
"The team is looking to have a great time in Ft. Pierce this week," said Harper. "We have had a few set backs with injuries early on this season and hope to be at full strength for the second half."
The Noles will return for the second half of the season in 2001 with the divers competing in the Bulldog Invitational in Athens, GA on January 3-6. The men's and women's swimming team will host Truman State University on January 6.
