As the Florida State sand volleyball program prepares to begin its second season, Seminoles.com will highlight the personalities of the players in a weekly Q & A feature - "Diggin' in Deep." Our fourth "Diggin in Deep" participant is sophomore Jace Pardon.

What's your motto in life?
Just do it.

Name two things you consider yourself to be very good at?
Volleyball and my work ethic.

What is one item that you really should throw away but probably never will?
Probably the handbook of places to go from Canada when I went to the FIVB championships last year.

Why did you choose FSU?
For sand volleyball and because I really wanted to go to school in Florida and they had a good football team. Plus I really wanted to go to a big school.

What is something most people don't know about you?
I played basketball in high school.

Do you have any phobias?
Of heights, maybe.

What is your favorite class at FSU?
Popular music class

Who had the biggest influence on your athletic career?
My sister, she is also a college athlete for the University of Hawaii. She plays water polo and she is just so encouraging.

What do you think is your strongest athletic attribute?
Being able to see the court.

Best non-athletic talent?
I am a really good dancer.

If your life was made into a movie what would it be titled and who would play your character?
I would pick Nick Swardson and it would be titled "This is the way I live."

What is the strangest talent you have?
I can move my bottom eyelids.

What was your childhood nickname or nickname that you currently have?
J.C.

Name something, other than volleyball, that you're truly passionate about?
Money

What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?
Going to the world championships last year.

Favorite song to dance to?
'Pop That' by French Montana.

Favorite dance?
I like `Crank That' by Soulja Boy.

What is your favorite thing about FSU?
Sand volleyball

What is your earliest memory of playing volleyball?
When I was six at a beach camp.

The biggest difference of indoor and outdoor volleyball is sand of course, but can you tell me what are some other differences?
There's only two people playing and you can't set the ball or they are really strict when you set your hands on the ball. It's a lot more intense conditioning wise. Running in the sand with only two people and being a part of every play is a lot more draining and hard on your body.

What would be your perfect sand volleyball soundtrack?
A hip-hop soundtrack.

Name three things you cannot live without.
Beach volleyball, the beach and my friends and family.

How do you spend your free time?
Shopping and hanging out

What single piece of technology you cannot live without?
My iPhone

What is one daily activity that bores you?
Going to class

When do you feel your best morning, noon/afternoon or night?
Not in the morning, so anything after that.

What is your philosophy on life?
Live each day as if it was your last.

Have you ever lived outside of this country?
Yes, I went to Canada last semester and I've been to Europe when I was younger and Peru.

Most exotic place that you have been?
Peru
