TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - The Florida State softball team resumes its fall schedule this weekend with a doubleheader at JoAnne Graf Field against Southeastern Conference opponent Georgia.
The Seminoles and Bulldogs square off in Tallahassee on Saturday afternoon with the first game beginning at noon at the Seminole softball complex. The second exhibition is scheduled to start at approximately 2 p.m.
After the two games this weekend, the Seminole softball team will be on hand afterward to sign autographs for any fans in attendance.
"This weekend will be a big test for our ballclub. It is another opportunity to see how much we've progressed this fall," head coach Lonni Alameda said. "You've got two notable schools from the ACC and SEC in what should be two well-played games. It will be a lot of fun for our fans to watch and get a glimpse of the kind of team we have."
Georgia reached an NCAA Super Regional last season before falling to seventh-seeded Tennessee in the third and final game of the series. Florida State is coming off another strong campaign in 2012, where it finished 15-13 against 16 NCAA postseason squads.
Just like the regular season, admission to any fall games played at JoAnne Graf Field is always free.
The Seminoles return with two more exhibitions next weekend on Friday, Oct. 26 at home. There will be another Garnet-Gold scrimmage at 3:30 p.m., followed by a matchup against Palm Beach Atlantic at 6 p.m.
