The Seminoles will face-off with the Gators for a Sun Sports televised game beginning at 4:00 p.m.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State will look to put the past behind as it hosts cross-state rival and nationally-ranked Florida for a doubleheader on JoAnne Graf Field on Wednesday, April 16. First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. for game one which will be broadcast live on Sun Sports. The Seminoles, who enter the match-up with a 32-19 season record, will look to repeat the 2006 series when they swept the doubleheader against the Gators who are currently ranked third in the nation with a 46-2 record.

The teams have met 22 times since Florida added a softball program in 1997 and the Seminoles, who lead the series 13-9, have out-scored the Gators 85-69. The Gators are the first nationally-ranked team to play at the Seminole Softball Complex this season but FSU has faced quite a few ranked teams already. At the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif., the Seminoles knocked out top-ranked Arizona State in a 2-1 decision and fell in 4-3 in nine innings to then No. 18 Washington.

Following the mid-week series with Florida, the Noles head to Blacksburg, Va., for an ACC round against No. 19 Virginia Tech on April 18-19. FSU trails in the series with the Hokies 6-5 and took just one of four meetings last season.

Fans are urged to come out early on Wednesday as Seminole ISP Sports Marketing will be hosting Croc Giveaway Night presented by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida. The first 100 Seminole fans will receive a coupon for a pair of Crocs redeemable between games. As always, admission is free.
