TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - For aspiring softball players looking to improve their skills, registration is open for the two camps offered this summer by Tallahassee Softball Camps. There will be a Junior Seminole Camp on June 15-18 that is available for athletes entering seventh grade or below. On June 22-25, the Summer Prospect Camp is available for athletes in 8th grade or above. All camps will be held at Florida State University.

"Our camps allow kids to not only showcase their skills but also learn a ton," said assistant coach Craig Snider. "Something that separates our camps from most is that we put them in a position to where they are going to get challenged mentally and physically and they are going to get better. In doing so, they not only get to be in front of Florida State staff, but other college coaches from around the nation."

The Junior Seminole Camp will provide the best professional instruction for campers of all skill levels in a fun-filled & competitive environment. The emphasis will be on individual skill development in all parts of the game and the opportunity to incorporate these skills in game-like situations. Campers will be placed with others of similar age and skill level.

The Summer Prospect Camp is designed to work with advanced softball athletes entering 8th through 12th grades. Camp instructors will work with individuals on all aspects of the game - hitting, defense, pitching, catching, strategy and mental training. The major emphasis will be to prepare athletes for advanced level competition through individual and team development. Athletes will get the opportunity to showcase their skills to FSU and many other college coaches.

"We are a teaching camp and want all kids to go play college softball somewhere," added Snider. "We will have coaches from Division I to Division III to Junior Colleges and everything in between. We had 40 players from our winter camp last year go play Division I softball and 95 percent of our roster at Florida State has gone through our camps."

Registration is open on the Tallahassee Softball Camps website, fsusoftballcamps.com. Information about other clinics, as well as bios on the coaching staff and other instructional materials are also available online.
