Tallahassee, FL - For the first time this season, the 16th-ranked Florida State softball team (24-4) will face a Top 20 opponent when they take on No. 18 Nebraska (15-9) at 5:30 p.m. at the Seminole Softball Complex. The Sunshine Network will broadcast the game March 17 at 5:30 p.m. and inning-by-inning updates will be available at www.seminoles.com.

"This is a very big game for our team," said head coach JoAnne Graf. "We expected to play No. 9 Fullerton last weekend in San Diego but weather forced us to cancel that game so tonight's contest takes on even greater importance. We have to face as much top competition as possible to prepare us for ACC and post-season play."

The Seminoles enter the game having won 11 of their last 12 games and they face a Cornhusker squad that has won eight of their last 10. Nebraska has won seven of its 10 meetings with Florida State and this game will be the first meeting between the teams since Nebraska swept two games from the Seminoles in 1999 (4-1 & 1-0).

Florida State will face Iowa State (8-8) Thursday, March 15 before hosting the Tallahassee Democrat/Seminole Invitational March 16-18 at the Seminole Softball Complex. All games are free to the public and the Seminole Softball Complex is located on the campus of Florida State University.
