BLACKSBURG, Va. - The No. 16 Florida State softball team ended its five-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over Virginia Tech on Sunday.
Gober finished the day with one earned run, five strikeouts and just three walks. Hamilton got the save as she struck out three and walked one in two innings of work against the Hokies (18-28, 5-10).
Florida State was held scoreless all the way until the fifth inning on Saturday.
Already trailing 1-0 following a first-inning Hokies score, FSU loaded the bases with just one out. Bullock's slow roller back to the pitcher was enough for Courtney Rosen to slide safely into home for a tie ballgame.
Florida State will now play in its final midweek game of the season as it travels to Mobile, Ala. to take on South Alabama. That game will take place on April 21 at 5 p.m.
Also, fans that wish to attend a Dugout Club social with the softball team on Saturday, April 24 after FSU's game against Georgia Tech, are encouraged to contact Sarah Reed of the Seminole Boosters. She can be reached via telephone at 850-645-8296 or via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
