TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Despite outhitting the Rattlerettes eight to seven, the No. 15-ranked Florida State softball team stranded 10 runners and fell 3-1 to Florida A&M this evening at Lady Seminole Field. The loss puts FSU at 43-15 while FAMU improves to 28-29. It was just the second time in 58 games that FSU has fallen to the Rattlerettes. Florida A&M scored runs in the second, third and fourth innings. Power-hitter Kim Browning went 2-for-2, including a solo home run to left in the fourth inning and also scored two runs while shortstop Nikki Reed was perfect, going 3-for-3. FSU scored its lone run in the fourth as Corrie Williams led off with a double, advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Jesse McGregor and was driven in by Jen Brown's ground out to second base. Florida State will host Auburn on Sunday in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. in its last home regular-season series of the season. The games will be televised, delayed-broadcast, on Sunshine Network, Cable 23, beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
