Feb. 13, 1998 PHOENIX, AZ -- Florida State's softball team (5-1) split their opening games at the Arizona State Coca Cola Classic Friday in Phoenix losing to Oregon in the first game 2-0 and beating Purdue in the second 8-1. Against Oregon, pitcher Jennifer White was threw a shut out till the Ducks hit a two run home run in the bottom of the 7th to win the game. White's record now stands at 2-1 on the season. The Seminoles rebounded in the second game as the offense erupted to score eight runs against the Boilermakers. Leading the way was Tami Post with two doubles and Dana Bailey with a triple. Corrie Williams picked up the win to go to 1-0 on the season. The Noles continue in tournament play with two games tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. |
