2000: Strong hitting pitcher... was 13-9 with a 2.48 ERA
and 14 complete games... suffered from bicep tendonitis
and made just four appearances in the month of April...
came back strong and helped FSU earn the SASA auto-
matic bid with complete-game victories vs. Virginia and Maryland... batted
.214... hit an inside-the-park home run vs. FAMU on Feb. 12... had four
shutouts... threw a one-hitter with nine strikeouts against Miami of Ohio on
March 17... had three multi-hit games and one three-RBI game... started the
season with a three-game hitting streak.
1999: Compiled a 16-16 pitching
record and appeared in 37 games... named ACC Pitcher of the Week for
March 16th... recorded her first shutout of the year against Campbell and
had a team-high seven on the season... led the pitching squad with 24 com-
plete games... was third in the conference with a 1.53 ERA... struck out 164
batters and pitched 214.2 innings... had 24 hits, including one home run,
while batting .255... drove in eight runs.
1998: Saw action in 39 games,
returning to action in NCAA regional play after missing six weeks of action
with a rib injury... earned second team All-Southeast Region honors...
although sidelined, still led the country with 26 victories until April 14th...
was FSU's ace on the mound with a 26-8 record and a 1.37 ERA... was tied
for first in the ACC with a 1.37 ERA... earned ACC Pitcher of the Week hon-
ors three times... earned victories over No. 3 Washington and No. 2 Fresno
State... also pitched FSU to victory over nationally-ranked LSU... had five
shutouts... had 27 complete games in 36 appearances... struck out 123 bat-
ters and walked just 36 in 215.1 innings pitched... held opponents to a
.214 batting average... was named the Most Valuable Player of the
Tallahassee Democrat Florida State Invitational after leading FSU to the title
with a 5-0 record and six RBIs... also batted for herself and had 25 hits and
11 RBIs... on the batting end, had four multiple hit games... drove in a sea-
son-high three runs vs. Central Michigan... struck out eight batters in five
games.
High School: Two-time high school All-American... four-year letter-
winner in softball and basketball... named to the Principal's honor roll.
Personal: Majoring in elementary education... played ASA summer ball
with the Decatur Twister... born on Feb. 1, 1978... nickname is JW... mar-
ried Frank Stokes in December, 1999... member of the ACC Academic
Honor Roll.
