An excellent all-around player at Sandra Day O'Connor High ... started third base on the varsity team when she was just a freshman ... started as a sophomore at pitcher and third base ... garnered 5A Division All-Region and Arizona Adidas Futures 2011 honors ... decided not to play softball as a junior and senior to concentrate on academics, which resulted in a 4.4 grade point average ... as a senior, she attended an alternate school for a half day to receive her Certified Nursing Assistant license ... also spent her time away from softball volunteering at a hospital and a long-term health care facility ... played club for the Arizona Storm-Brun under Kara and Greg Brun ... spent part of her senior year in alternate school to receive a Certified Nursing Assistant license ... awarded the Presidents Scholarship and 2009 Presidents Award.

Born on Aug. 30, 1995 ... majoring in biology ... daughter of Lori and Wade Day ... her mother played first base for the Seminoles from 1986-89, earning all-region honors as a senior and holding the school record for 1,260 career putouts ... has one sister and two brothers ... had four dogs growing up ... has an uncle who played roles in popular films 'Bad News Bears' and 'Walk the Line' ... has aspirations of being a nurse practitioner ... enjoys hiking and singing ... most looking forward to playing North Carolina because she can see some of her girls from her hometown ... would like to add Arizona State to the schedule because it is her home state ... favorite movie is `She's the Man'... favorite magazine is Seventeen ... most played band on her iPod is Maroon 5 ... believes she cannot live without hairspray ... knows how to play the piano ... describes her style as `Classic Chic'... favorite home-cooked meal is steak and sweet potatoes ... has learned the importance of teamwork and working with others through sports ... sports idol as a child was Jennie Finch ... would most like to meet Babe Ruth because he succeeded even without the advancements made in today's sports world ... proudest moment in softball was hitting her first home run.
