2004: Tore her ACL in the Georgia Tech series (April 3, 2004) but was back playing on the injury and homered versus No. 12 Auburn in only her third game back...She and Beth Wade led FSU with 12 doubles and was third on the team with seven home runs...her .470 slugging percentage was fourth amongst FSU's starters...sixth in the ACC in doubles and eighth in slugging percentage...despite missing 12 starts, Palmer set new career highs for at bats, runs, hits, doubles and RBIs...she tied career highs for home runs, steals and walks.
2004 WCWS Highlights: FSU's designated player who appeared in all three games and had one base on balls in a 2-1 FSU loss versus LSU...Recorded seven at bats.
2004 NCAA Regionals Highlights: FSU's designated player who had two hits and was on base four times during the Region 4 Championship...a first-inning single against Long Island in game one helped FSU take a 1-0 lead in their victory...on base via a walk in the victory over Cal State Northridge...led off the seventh inning of championship game one with a single ...after singling, she was taken out for a pinch runner...that pinch runner - Carly Brieske - was thrown out at home attempting to score the game-tying run.
2004 ACC Tournament Game Highlights: Florida State's designated player because of a torn ACL in her right knee...among the Seminoles' leaders with a .333 batting average (three-of-nine) in three games as FSU won the ACC Championship...only Palmer, Jessica van der Linden and Beth Wade had hits in all three Seminole game during the ACC Championship...had an on-base percentage of .455 (on base five times in 11 appearances)...responsible for Florida State's second run in its 3-2 victory over Georgia Tech in the first game of the ACC Tournament...singled with one out in the bottom of the third to begin the Seminoles' rally...was replaced by a pinch-runner (Carey Galuppi) who scored on an infield single by Tatiana George to give Florida State a 2-1 advantage...also worked out a walk that in the fourth inning of that game as the Seminoles scored their third (and game-winning) run...her seventh home run of the season gave the Seminoles a 6-0 lead on their way to an 8-0 second-game win...her home run scored Jessica van der Linden who had earlier singled...on base twice in four at bats in the championship game against Georgia Tech...singled to left with one out in the third inning as the Seminoles took a 2-1 lead...Carey Galuppi was inserted as a pinch runner to score what proved to be the game-winning-run.
2004 Game Highlights: Began the season with a two-RBI base hit and two runs scored vs. Illinois State (2/7) in the Seminole Classic. She then added a RBI double and a run scored against Louisville (2/7) in the Classic...had two hits and the game-winning RBI in the first game at Mercer (2/11) and later added a RBI hit in game two...hit a double and scored twice in second game vs. Southern Miss (2/15)...with bases loaded, she hit a base-clearing double vs. Florida A&M (2/22)...recorded a base hit in five of the six games at the NFCA Leadoff Classic. She had a hit and a run scored vs. Army (2/27) and a RBI base hit against Texas (2/27) in the first day of the Classic. In the first game of day two she hit her first home run of the season, a three-run blast, against Washington (2/28) to give the Seminoles the lead and eventually the win. She added a hit vs. Oklahoma (2/28), a run scored vs. South Carolina (2/29) and a hit and run scored against LSU (2/29) to round out the Classic...she collected six hits to bat .429 in five games at the Seminole Challenge. She began the Challenge with a two-RBI double vs. Penn State (3/5) before going 2 for 3 with a RBI and two runs scored against Rhode Island (3/5). Against St. John's (3/6) she had two hits, including a double, and a RBI and ended the Challenge with a run scored vs. UConn (3/7)...had a hit, RBI and a run scored against UConn (3/9)...hit two doubles, scoring once and driving in a RBI vs. Notre Dame (3/11)...displayed both power and run production with three home runs, 10 RBIs and eight runs scored in six games at the KIA Classic. She had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored against Texas A&M (3/12). In the game against Robert Morris (3/12) she cranked a career-high two home runs to go along with a career-best five RBIs, including the game winner. The power continued with a two-run blast, her fourth of the season, vs. St. Joe's (3/13). Had a hit and two runs scored vs. Central Michigan (3/13). Scored the winning run plus one more and added a RBI-double vs. St. Joe's (3/13). Hit a double in the final game of the Classic against Michigan (3/14)...hit a two-run home run and scored twice in the first game vs. Troy State (3/16)...her double, one of two hits in the game, at Florida A&M (3/30) plated the game winning RBI...tore the ACL in her left knee during the second game of the Georgia Tech (4/3) series...returned to the batter's box less than a month later versus NC State (5/1) and then started the second game and went 1-for-2 with a sure-fire double that ended up being a single because she couldn't make the turn on her knee...started to look like the Lesley Palmer of old versus No. 12 Auburn (5/3) when she homered in just her second start since the injury. The solo shot was the game-winner...drove in a run versus No. 5 Michigan, her second RBI since returning to the field.
2003: The newcomer started 52 of FSU 57 games and quickly established herself as one of the top power hitting threats on the team ...the Tribes ' top returning power hitter ...named to the ACC All-Tournament team and tournament MVP ...second on the team with six home runs and a .566 slugging percentage ...third on the team in doubles, walks and on base percentage ...led all first year players in average, doubles, homers, RBIs, total bases, slugging, walks and on base percentage ...only 2003 All-American Brandi Stuart slugged higher and hit more homers than Palmer did in 2003 ...finished the season strong with hits in 17 of her last 23 starts ...tied for third on the squad with four game- winning RBIs ...hit four of her six homers in the final 20 games ...set ACC Championship records for home runs in a game and home runs in a tournament. ACC REGULAR SEASON: Started all eight ACC games for FSU ...third on the team for doubles ...tied for the lead among newcomers for average, runs scored, total bases and doubles ...second amongst FSU 's first year players for slugging percentage and fourth in the ACC for walks. She also scored the game-winning run when she came home on a passed ball ...went 1 for 3 with a walk versus No.8 UGA ...was 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs, a double, a walk and a sac versus SE Louisiana ...in her first outing against Iowa State she went 2 for 3 ...against Middle Tennessee the third baseman opened up going 1 for 2 with a run scored and a mammoth 250-foot home run to left field ...in the final contest versus Iowa State ,Palmer went 1 for 1 with a double, a game-winning RBI, a run scored and two walks ...went 1 for 2 versus Syracuse with a walk and a two RBI double ...had a great outing in a doubleheader against Troy State where she went 2 for 5 with two RBIs, a run, a walk and a stolen base ...against Rutgers ,Palmer went 1 for 1 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored as she blasted her second mammoth homer of the year. It was the second of three straight game-winning RBIs she recorded ...had another multi-hit game with a 2 for 3 day against Penn State ...broke out of a 1 for 25 slump with a 4 for 9 week against Elon and North Carolina ...started off by going 1 for 2 with an RBI in game one versus Elon ...had a big game two as she went 2 for 2 with a run scored and an RBI on her third HR of the season ... against UNC ,she finished off the sweep by going 1 for 2 ...started the UCF twin bill with a 1 for 2 day including a double ...recorded hits in both Furman games. Went 1 for 2 with a double in game one and then went 1 for 2 again in game two but this time with an RBI ...in the series finale versus Virginia ,she went 2 for 2 with a run scored and a double. Both hits started Seminole rallies ...in FSU 's first win over Georgia Tech , Palmer went 1 for 1 with a run scored and a walk ...named the ACC Tournament Most Valuable Player and to the All-Tournament team after hitting .800 with four hits, four runs scored, three home runs,13 total bases, and a 2.600 slugging percentage ....in game one she hit a solo shot to left field to put the Seminoles up 8-1 in the third inning ...hit a two-run shot to left center field to put Florida State up 2-0 in the second inning of game two ...hit another two-run home run in game three to tie the game at 2-2 in the second inning ...was retired only once in six plate appearances ...was also perfect in three chances in the field at third base, one putout and two assists.
Junior College: Played one season at Lake City CC, which produced former Seminole slugger Monique Marier...2002 NJCAA first team All-American...named All-State, All-Conference 1st Team and Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2002.
High School: Dominated high school softball in the state of Virginia, which led her to the University of Texas as a freshman...2nd team high school All-American her junior year...four-time WCAC Conference Pitcher of the Year and a four-time All-WCAC 1st team selection...named first team All-State all four years in high school...three-time MVP of the Virginia State Tournament...All-MET Player of the Year as a junior and a 1st team All-MET selection for four straight years...All-Fairfax Player of the Year as a junior and All-Fairfax 1st Team...finished her high school career owning every record at Bishop O'Connell except for runs and stolen bases...played for the nation's seventh-ranked high school softball team as a sophomore.
