GAME HIGHLIGHTS
Scored five runs in Florida State’s first five games of the season…recorded the first RBI of her FSU career against Middle Tennessee…had back-to-back hits and scored back-to-back runs versus Iowa State and then nationally ranked Pacific…scored runs in key road wins versus North Carolina and No. 25 Florida…recorded her third base knock of the year against Jacksonville…played in all three of Florida State’s ACC Tournament games including the championship game against Virginia…one of eight Seminoles to score multiple runs during the tournament…a defensive substitution in all three games and a pinch runner/defensive substitution in the Seminoles’ championship game victory over Virginia. Was perfect in the field (two putouts, 1 assist and zero errors on defense) and scored a run in her only appearance as a pinch runner…unassisted putout at third base on an infield grounder ended a Virginia threat with two Cavalier runners on base in the fourth inning of Florida State’s victory in game one Unassisted putout at third base on an infield grounder ended a Virginia threat with two Cavalier runners on base in the fourth inning of Florida State’s victory in game one…a defensive substitution in game two of the tournament against Georgia Tech and credited with one putout and one assist from her third base position. 2002: Appeared in 21 games and made seven starts in her first
season as a Seminole…in limited opportunities she recorded
two doubles and scored four runs…was a key contributor in
conference games hitting .333 and slugging .667 versus ACC
foes…made her first career start against Maine…went 2-for-3
at the plate with a sacrifice and a run scored…collected two
putouts and one assist in the game versus the Black Bears…as a
pinch hitter against Florida A&M, Larson hit her first double of
the season and scored a run in the 18-3 defeat of Florida
A&M…got the start in game one against ACC rival North
Carolina…she hit .333 (1-for-3) with a double down the line in
right…for the season, Larson committed only one error in 30
chances… played a big part in FSU’s success at NCAA Regionals
when Becky Brock was sidelined with an injury…the transfer
started three games and appeared in all four at third base…vs.
Georgia Tech she was a defensive replacement for Becky Brock
at third base in the fifth inning…garnered her first NCAA
postseason start vs. UTC…recorded two putouts and one assist
in her first start of the season at third…was errorless in three
chances…recorded her second consecutive start at third on
Championship Sunday vs. Georgia Tech and chipped in with two
putouts and two assists…recorded her third start of the day as
the Seminoles clinched the championship of the NCAA
Tallahassee Regional with another victory versus the Yellow
Jackets…two official at bats with one run scored…had one
putout and three assists in an errorless performance in the field.
Junior College: Transfer from Florida Community College in
Jacksonville…awarded the Coach’s Award for Softball and
received All-Conference honors…garnered academic All-American
honors at FCC… named to the All-Tournament team
for the Regional Softball Tournament…received All-Conference
honorable mention.
High School: Letterwinner in three sports: softball, soccer and
basketball…captain of the varsity softball team as a
senior…winner of the Walsh-Platt Scholarship in
1999…selected to All-Area 1st team at shortstop her senior
year…received the Scholar Athlete of the Year scholarship her
junior and senior years…garnered All-Area honorable mention
honors at shortstop as a junior…was a member of the NFCA
National Softball Championship team in the summer of 1999.
Personal: Major is family and child sciences…member of the
Dean’s List in the fall of 2002…named to the 2002 ACC
Academic Honor Roll…maintained a 4.0 GPA during her
fall semester at Florida Community College…born
