§ Put together her best year as she was amongst the team leaders in six different categories.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS
Went 2 for 4 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base versus SE Louisiana…went 2 for 4, scored a run and drove in an RBI versus FAMU…had a 1 for 3 outing against then-No. 20 Pacific…went 2 for 3 with a run scored against eventual NFCA Leadoff Classic Champion UMass…against Mercer she had a 1 for 4 game with a run scored and an RBI…recorded two hits and scored a run in each of FSU’s two games at the Seminole Challenge. Also had a stolen base and a sacrifice in those two games…had one of her best games of the season with a 3 for 4 night against Rutgers where she scored yet another run and had an RBI…recorded another multi-hit game, her 5th in the last 10 starts, and drove in a run against Winthrop…had a huge game against Georgia State going 3 for 4 with a run scored and a stolen base…was huge for FSU in game two of the doubleheader with Maryland as she went 3 for 6 with a run scored…had one of her best days of the year in game one versus Elon. Her 3 for 4 day at the plate tied her season high for hits in a game as she also scored a run…versus Furman, she only recorded one hit but she scored three runs, stole two bases and had an RBI…versus Florida A&M, the senior went 2 for 4 with two runs scored and a stolen base…after a 0 for 4 game to start the week, Colzie responded by going 8 for 12 in the next three games. She went 3 for 5 with two runs scored against UF in game two, 1 for 3 with a run scored in game one versus UVa and 4 for 4 with three runs, three RBIs and a double in the finale…in the final regular season versus Georgia Tech, Shandra recorded a hit in both games and scored two runs in the 6-0 win…in the 2003 ACC Tournament, Shandra tied for first on the team with four hits and ranked fourth on the team in batting average…recorded four hits during the tournament, one double and three singles…scored at least one run in two of the Seminoles’ three tournament games. Scored a personal tournament-high two runs in Florida State’s victory against Georgia Tech in the second game…was perfect in the field on three chances as Florida State’s starting right fielder. She had two putouts and one assist during the tournament…had a personal tournament-high two hits in the second game of the tournament against Georgia Tech with two runs scored…helped manufacture the Seminoles’ third run of the game in the sixth inning with a leadoff single, then moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Tatiana George, moved to third on a fly out to right by Jessica van der Linden and scored on a single by Elisa Vasquez. Her run gave Florida State a 3-0 lead…scored what proved to be Florida State’s insurance run (its fifth of the game) against Georgia Tech as she helped manufacture another run in the seventh inning. Reached base on bunt single, advanced to second on a wild pitch, reached third on a groundout and scored on a single by van der Linden. Her run put Florida State up 5-0 in Florida State’s 5-3 victory…had two hits in four at bats with a run scored in Florida State’s championship game victory over Virginia in the title game. Rocked a double in the first inning and advanced as far as third base. An infield single to leadoff the third, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Tatiana George, advanced to third on an infield groundout and scored on an error by the Cavalier shortstop…was on base five times during the Seminoles’ run to the championship. Advanced to at least third base four times, scored three runs and was “stranded” at first base only once…FSU’s second leading hitter at the 2003 Region 4 NCAA Championship with a .375 average…led all Seminoles with three hits in the NCAA Tournament.

2002: Newcomer who made a big impact in her first season…the junior college transfer appeared in 63 games and made 50 starts…was in the top five for runs scored (27), sacrifice bunts (11), steals (7), steal attempts (10) and advancing runners (.563)…was second on the team with three runs scored in the postseason and led the team with two runs scored at the Women’s College World Series…one of FSU’s top players in ACC contests…was fourth on the team in batting average (.389), third in runs scored (5), second in hits (7), fifth in total bases (7) and first in sacrifice hits (4) in ACC games…went 1-for-1 with a walk in her first career game as a Seminole versus Georgia Southern...singled to short in her second at bat and came around to score…scored a key run in the Seminoles’ seventh-inning rally versus Florida Atlantic as a pinch-runner...was a catalyst for FSU all weekend at the Seminole Challenge. She scored three runs, got on base five times and scored a run…had a monster outing versus Syracuse by going 3-for-4 with an RBI, two steals and scoring two runs…finished the weekend on a high note by going 2-for-4 against St. John’s with a run scored…had one of her best games of the year against Dayton going 2-for-4 and knocking in her second run of the season…went 2-for-3 versus Texas and 1-for-4 with a run scored against Pitt…then went 2-for-4 with two runs scored against No. 14 DePaul…got a hit in FSU’s big win over No. 13 Washington and scored one of just two Seminole runs in the Kia Klassic semi-finals versus Texas…in the April 6th doubleheader versus FAMU, she hit .500 (2-for-4) and scored a run…had the first game-winning RBI of her FSU career in game one of the UAB doubleheader…went 1-for-3 and scored a run in the final game of FSU’s sweep of Georgia Tech. Singled and scored on Brandi Stuart’s HR in the third…recorded her lone double of the season, while collecting an RBI and scoring a run in a 6-1 victory over Florida…had her best series of the season against ACC rival North Carolina, batting .571 (4-for-7) with one RBI and three runs scored…went a combined 2-for-5 with a run scored in the series sweep of Virginia at Charlottesville...was second on the team with two hits at the 2002 ACC Softball Championship and one of just four players to record more than one hit over the weekend…probably scored one of the most important runs of the season in FSU’s march to the WCWS semi-finals…FSU was facing elimination from the 2002 NCAA Tallahassee Regional against Cinderella team UTC in the eighth inning. Colzie was inserted to pinch run for Jackie Hirschfeld who led off the eighth with a single. She advanced to second on a walk by Tatiana George and to third on an infield single by Shundra Colzie. With the game in the balance, a signal mix-up left Colzie caught in a run-down between third and home. The throw from the Mocs’ catcher to the third baseman was dropped allowing Colzie to score the winning run. The victory was the first of three for FSU on the day that sent the Tribe to Oklahoma City…made her first-ever WCWS start versus Cal…in another elimination game, this time at the WCWS versus Nebraska, Colzie scored a key run in a four-run fifth that advanced FSU to the semi-finals…scored another run as she helped FSU take a 1-0 lead on defending National Champion Arizona in the semis.

Junior College: Garnered third team Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American honors after the 2000 season…named NFCA All-Region first team, NJCAA All-Region first team, first team All-State and first team All-Mid-Florida Conference…named to the NJCAA Atlantic District All-Tournament Team and the Tallahassee Community College Tournament All-Tournament Team.

High School: Named Miami Herald All-Dade First Team 1996- 1999…Most Valuable Player at Gulliver Prep from 1996-1999.

Personal: Member of the Dean’s List in the spring and fall of 2002…named to the 2002 ACC Academic Honor Roll…brother is former Seminole football great James Colzie...major is elementary education…born August 27, 1981.
