NSCAA All-Southeast Region Team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - The Florida State Women's Soccer team was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with a trio of Seminoles named to the All-Southeast Region first team. The three Seminole student-athletes recognized by the NSCAA in 2011 included senior Tori Huster and juniors Ines Jaurena and Tiffany McCarty.

Huster started all 26 games in the midfield for the Seminoles in 2011. The Cincinnati, Ohio native wrapped up her four-year career in Tallahassee with 91 starts - fifth most in school history. She finished her senior campaign fourth on the team in points with 16 recording six goals and four assists. Huster went on to garner first team All-ACC, first team Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District and College Cup All-Tournament team honors this year.

McCarty finished the 2011 season as the team leader in points (42), goals (18), shots (80) and game-winning goals (4), while sitting tied for second in assists (6). A two-time first team All-ACC selection, the Laurel, Md., native started all 26 games for the Seminoles at the forward position. This year McCarty became FSU's all-time career leader in points, goals and shots.

Jaurena also started all 26 games for Florida State as each start came in the Seminole backline. She helped lead FSU to 12 shutouts including three in the NCAA Tournament. The junior defender set season-highs for points (11) and goals (4), while three of her four goals were game-winners. Jaurena earned first team All-ACC honors in 2011.

As first team honorees, all three Seminoles will be in the running for national All-America honors which will be voted on later this month. McCarty was named a first team All-American by the NSCAA back in 2009.

Florida State and Virginia led all schools in the region with three first team selections, while all 12 members of the first team were made up of student-athletes from the ACC.

Thursday's announcement marks the fourth time in school history that Florida State has placed three students on the NSCAA All-Southeast Region first team. The Seminoles were recognized with three first team selections in 2005 and 2006 and then a school record four first team all-region honorees in 2008.
