TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Florida State's Janice Cayman was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Team of the Week after tallying four points on a goal and two assists in leading FSU back to the Elite Eight for the seventh year in a row after posting wins over Portland and Louisville in Memphis last weekend.
Cayman recorded her third multi-point performance of the year with a goal and an assist against Portland in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The senior midfielder scored the game's first goal in the ninth minute followed with the game-winning assist off a goal from Dagny Brynjarsdottir in the 16th minute.
The Belgium native continued her hot streak in the tournament with her second assist in as many games finding Tiffany McCarty for a goal in the second half to give FSU a commanding 2-0 lead over Louisville.
Through the first three rounds of the NCAA Tournament, Cayman leads all Seminoles with six points on two goals and two assists.
Cayman and the Seminoles are back in action this Friday, November 25 when Florida State hosts Virginia in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals at the Seminole Soccer Complex. Match time for Friday is set for 2:00 p.m.
