TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Ninth-ranked Florida State (10-2-1, 3-1-1 ACC) concludes its current three-game road swing Thursday night in South Carolina as the Seminoles travel to face the Clemson Tigers (3-10-0, 0-5-0 ACC).
The Seminoles are unbeaten in their last 10 games against the Tigers posting an 8-0-2 record during that streak. FSU blanked Clemson 4-0 last year on Senior Night in Tallahassee as seven different Seminoles contributed in the scoring including goals by a pair of seniors in Sarah Wagenfuhr and Katrin Schmidt.
FSU has also won three straight on Clemson's home turf outscoring the Tigers 6-0. The last Clemson victory at home came in the second round of the 2001 NCAA Tournament.
* The two schools have faced each other 14 times since 2000 including three times in the NCAA Tournament and twice in the ACC Tournament. They have faced each other twice in one season in three of the last five years. The 19 games versus Clemson are the second most meetings among league schools, trailing only North Carolina (24 games).
* Florida State is looking to get back on track after going scoreless in back-to-back games last week against Wake Forest (L, 0-3) and Duke (T, 0-0). Clemson has dropped five straight and eight of its last nine. Maddy Elder leads the Tigers with 19 points on 9 goals and one assist.
* Those Seminoles listed on the 2009 roster have never lost a game to Clemson, unbeaten in their last four games (3-0-1); five players have registered points including Becky Edwards (1G - GWG), Amanda DaCosta (2A, 1 GWA), Casey Short (1A), Jessica Price (1A) and Lauren Switzer (1G).
