There's no place like home, and that is especially true for the Florida State Soccer team who now holds the longest home winning streak in school history.
"We have an unbelievable home field advantage." said Kassey Kallman, "Our crowd is unbelievable, our field is great. There is nothing like it."
The reason for the unique atmosphere at home which has seen its fair share of playoff wins and overtime victories is because of the fans the Seminoles play in front of. And there is nothing quite like the first home game of a Seminole's career.
"I've never played for a crowd like it." said Nickolette Driesse, "I think the fans motivated us and showed us that we aren't just playing for ourselves or for the team. We are playing for the fans, our family, and anyone who supports the team."
It took the Seminoles just the opening game this year to break the school of 19 straight wins at home. But now that the record is theirs, it only serves as more motivating to win.
"It's extra motivation to keep winning the next time we are home." said Kristin Crowley, "So now we know we have something going here and the fans help and just being home and not having to travel. We don't want to lose that winning streak at home, at all, and it is extra motivation and I think that is the way we look at it."
The Seminoles have 2 games this weekend and will look to continue their streak when they host Oklahoma State and Oklahoma on Friday and Sunday respectively. Wins in these games will extend the streak to 23.
