GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Florida State women's soccer team dropped its first match of the spring on Saturday falling to rival Florida, 1-0. The Seminoles now sit at 1-1-1 during the spring exhibition season.
The Gators' Annie Speese broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the third period as both teams played three 30 minute periods.
Florida State had its chances to score in the match as Jamia Fields and Nora Kervroëdan both caromed shots off the post. Freshman newcomer Anna McClung looked as if she would give the Noles an early lead but her goal was wiped off the board following a foul.
The Seminoles will conclude its spring exhibition season with a match against FIU in mid-April.
