TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The United States U-23 squad went 3-0 in claiming the title at the Four Nations Tournament in La Manga, Spain. Kassey Kallman, along with former Seminoles Tiffany McCarty, Toni Pressley and Casey Short, all saw action for the U.S. in the tournament sweep.
All four Seminoles saw playing time in the tournament opener as the U.S. defeated Norway, 3-1. Pressley, Short and McCarty earned a start against the Norwegians as McCarty and Pressley each scored a goal. McCarty opened the scoring in the 16th minute followed by Pressley's eventual game-winner in the 33rd minute which gave the U.S. a 2-0 lead. Short, who started the match left the game in the 38th with an injury and was replaced by Kallman. Short would not return for the rest of the tournament.
The second match of the tournament saw the U.S. easily handle Sweden 6-0. Both Pressley and Kallman started and played all 90 minutes. McCarty entered the match at the start of the second half and tallied 45 minutes on the pitch.
The U.S. clinched the tournament title with a 2-1 victory over England. Pressley and Kallman once again started in the backline and played the whole match, while McCarty played 26 minutes in the win.
