TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State's Kassey Kallman will make her debut with the U.S. U-23 Women's National Team this week. There will also be a few familiar faces joining her in La Manga, Spain as former Seminole standouts Tiffany McCarty, Toni Pressley and Casey Short are all part of the 20-player roster that will compete at the Four Nations Tournament.
The U-23 team, under the direction of head coach Randy Waldrum, will open its 2013 campaign with a challenging trip to Spain, from February 22-March 5 where the squad will take on the U-23 sides of Norway, England and Sweden.
Kallman returns to international competition for the first time since claiming gold as a member of the U.S. U-20 Women's National Team at the 2012 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Tokyo, Japan back in September of 2012.
McCarty and Short are two of six players on the U.S. team that are currently on preliminary rosters for clubs in the newly formed National Women's Soccer League. McCarty was the second overall pick by the Washington Spirit and Short was taken fifth overall by the Boston Breakers.
Pressley is currently in her second season playing in Russia with Ryazan VDV.
The U.S. will play Norway on February 28, Sweden on March 2 and then finish up the four-team tournament against England on March 4.
