FSU Women Fall To NC State 4-1
RALEIGH, NC -- The Florida State women's soccer team (3-3, 0-3 in the ACC) were dealt their third conference setback of the 1997 season as No. 24 NC State (5-1, 1-0 in the ACC) scored four goals in the second half to defeat the Seminoles 4-1 at Method Road Soccer Stadium.
After a scoreless tie at halftime, Florida-native Shane Gallo dished off three assists to fuel the Wolfpack's second half eruption. Gallo started off by feeding Lisa Boggs near the left post of the FSU goal for a left-footed kick past Seminole goalkeeper Melissa Juhl at 47:56. A little over nine minutes later, Gallo passed the ball to Jennifer Marsh for a wide-open shot 20 feet in front of the goal for the eventual game-winner at 57:03.
FSU's Lauren Lynch scored the 'Noles lone goal with a shot over NC State goalkeeper Kat Mertz at the 71:33 with the assist by April Murphy and Kasey McCall.
NC State outshot FSU 16-4, while the 'Noles had a 5-1 corner kick advantage.
