Lauren Cyran enters her second year as an assistant coach for the Florida State soccer program after spending one year under coach Baker at the University of Pennsylvania. She will serve as the recruiting coordinater for the soccer program and will assist with on-the-field duties.

Cyran served as assistant coach at the University of Pennsylvania for the 1998 season where she worked with all aspects of the program. She served as the recruiting coordinater and played an active part in the on-the-field training and practices. Prior to joining Penn, Cyran was the head coach for the Durham, North Carolina Under-12 girl's soccer team for two years and served as the assistant coach with the Lakewood Fury's Under-15 soccer team. She also was a coach at the Duke University soccer camp in 1996 and served three years as an instructor for the Lakewood Fury's soccer camp.

As a four-year starter at Duke, she garnered second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors in 1994 and 1997 and served as the team captain her junior and senior years. Cyran was also named Rookie of the Year in 1994 and the team's MVP defender as a junior and senior.

As a member of the 1996 and 1997 western regional champion Denver Diamonds during the summer, Cyran was named team captain both years and was named to the 1997 all-star team. She also played one season with the Colorado Lakewood Fury, an Under-20 USWISL team, and served as the team captain. A native of Littleton, Colorado, Cyran graduated from Duke University in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in public policy studies. Cyran will complete her masters degree in higher education administration this December.
