Silva cards 79 in third round of tournament.

ADELAIDE, Australia - Florida State University golfer Macarena Silva shot a seven-over par 79 in the third round and is in a tie for 73rd place in the individual standings at the Women's World Amateur Team Championship at the Grange Golf Club's East Course. She is the leading golfer for the team representing Chile which is in a tie for 33rd place in the team standings. The final round of the event will be played on Oct. 11.

Silva earned her second best score of the tournament and has a 233 total for the first three rounds of the event. Her individual score is the best three round total among the three golfers playing for Chile in the tournament. Silva's score is 16-over par for the first 54 holes that have been played.

Silva played her best golf of the third round as he finished her back nine at one-over par. She earned pars on eight of her final nine holes of the afternoon to finish at seven-over par for the round. Silva was a total of one-over par on her final 10 holes of the round.

Sweden increased its lead in the team standings to 11 strokes over Spain. Sweden's Caroline Hedwall shot an even-par 73 and Anna Nordqvist posted a 1-over-par 74 as Sweden picked up three strokes on second-place Spain. Sweden finished the first 54 holes at 14-under-par 422, tying a championship record for the second-largest third-round lead.

The United States made the day's biggest move with a 4-under-par 142 to advance four places to fourth with Alison Walshe notching a 4-under-par 69, the best round of the day. Teammates Amanda Blumenherst and Tiffany Joh both shot even-par 73.
