ADELAIDE, Australia - Seminole women's golf sophomore Macarena Silva, who is playing for her home country of Chile, is in a tie for 53rd place after carding a seven-over par 80 in the second round of the 2008 Women's World Amateur Team Championship. With two rounds remaining to be played in the event Chile is in 34th place in the team standings. This four day event plays host to a record 54 international teams and is held at The Grange Golf Club's East and West Courses.

Silva's very consistent first round 74 led her team and placed Chile in 22nd place. Chile now sits at a combined team 22 over par. Silva's score has been counted toward the team total in both of the first two rounds. She is the only player on her three-member team who has had her score count on both of the first two days of the event.

Sweden is currently in first place in the team standings with an eight-stroke lead at 15 under par after two rounds. The Swedes lead Spain (seven-under par) and defending champion South Africa which is at even par.

The United States is sitting in a tie for eighth in the team standings followed closely by England, Australia, and Germany.
