March 25, 2006 TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Sophomore Vicky Jackson earned medalist honors and led West Florida to the team championship at the second annual Seminole Intercollegiate junior varsity women's golf tournament at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course. Jackson carded identical scores of 77 in both rounds of the two-round event as she helped the Argonauts to the tournament championship on the second day of the event. West Florida trailed Florida State by five after the first round but recovered to win the title by 13 strokes. Jackson led four West Florida golfers who finished in the top five of the individual standings. In addition to Jackson, sophomore Clara Fornella finished in a tie for second place, freshman Lorena Fornella finished fourth place and sophomore Sarah Nicholson finished in fifth place. The Argonauts counted four scores in the 70's on the second day of competition to win the team title. Florida State, which finished in second place in the team standings, was led by junior Kayla Shaul (Cumming, Ga.) who finished in a tie for second in the individual standings. She finished with a two-day total of 157 to lead the Seminoles. Sophomore Ashley Kemp (Tampa, Fla.) finished in a tie for fifth in the individual standings while sophomore Ashleigh Anderson (Orlando, Fla.), Michelle Steakin (Wellington, Fla.) and Sara Young (Jacksonville, Fla.) all finished in the top 10 in the individual standings for Florida State. 1.
