The Seminole women's golf program plays host to the Florida State Match-Up Tournament February 14-16, 2014 at the Southwood Golf Club in Tallahassee. The event is the most unique event in all of college golf as the 12 teams and 60 individuals play in pairs for a Match-Up championship, a team championship and an individual championship.
THE 2014 FLORIDA STATE MATCH-UP FIELD
No. 47 Florida State is joined by No. 12 Clemson, No. 14 South Carolina, No. 30 Virginia, No. 31 Mississippi State, No. 35 Kansas, No. 39 Texas A&M, No. 46 Notre Dame, Florida Gulf Coast, Furman, Kansas State and Mercer in the second annual Florida State Match-Up. The 12 participating teams will tee-off in twosomes during the first two rounds and play in threesomes in the final round. The twosomes consist of partners playing together: Florida State/Texas A&M, Notre Dame/South Carolina, Furman/Kansas, Mercer/Florida Gulf Coast and Kansas State/Mississippi State. The match-up portion of the tournament is determined by taking the best four scores from each of the partners and the lowest scores to make up the match-up partner total. At the end of the tournament, the partners with the lowest score will win the Match-Up championship. The team and individual champions will also be crowned.

SECOND ANNUAL FLORIDA STATE MATCH-UP TOURNAMENT
The Florida State Match-Up Tournament, in its second year, is a very unique and one of a kind event in NCAA Women's Golf. The University of Georgia won the tournament's inaugural championship in 2013 with the Bulldogs and Oklahoma partnering to win the match-up championship. Erica Popson of Tennessee and Rocio Sanchez Lobato of Georgia shared individual honors in the inaugural event. The team partnerships consist of head coaches joining forces with former assistant coaches who are now in charge of their own programs, former college teammates, rivals, friends, teams and players who have developed relationships on and off of the golf course. The goal of the tournament is to begin the spring season with a lot of fun and friendly competition. The Florida State coaching staff want all of the coaches and players in the event to participate in a tournament format that they will all remember throughout the spring season.
