Oct. 10, 1997 Lady Seminoles in Second, Iding Tied for Fifth after One Round
BAYONET POINT, Fla. - The Florida State women's golf team is in second place after one round of play at the Beacon Woods Invitational at the Beacon Woods Country Club. The Lady Seminole team score of 307 is two strokes behind leader Indiana University. The Tribe two strokes ahead of Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi. Junior Erika Iding is tied for fifth with five other golfers after firing an opening round 75. Iding, a native of Lansing, MI, is one stroke out of the lead. Amy Bond is tied for 11th after posting a 76 in today's round. Juniors Sarah Capie and Amy Spooner are currently tied for 16th. Both golfers carded a 78. Aguri Okura rounded out the scoring for the Lady Seminoles with an 81 in today's round, tying her for 40th. Louise Wright of Florida State is competing this weekend as an individual. Wright, a freshman, posted a 78, tying her for 16th. Four golfers are tied for the lead after shooting a 74 in today's round. The Beacon Woods will continue tomorrow morning with the second round of play.
