SAN ANTONIO, Texas (seminoles.com) - Junior Carlton Kuhlo finished in a tie for 32nd place in the individual standings and the Seminole women's golf team finished in 12th place in the team standings as play in the Alamo Invitational at the Briggs Ranch Golf Course came to a close on Tuesday. Kuhlo enjoyed the best tournament of her career as she set personal bests for single round score (69 in the first round), 36 holes (145 in the first two rounds), tournament score (219) and score vs. par (+3) in finishing as the Seminoles' leader for the first time in her 14-match collegiate career.

Oklahoma won the team championship with an eight stroke victory over LSU. The Sooners led the event after the first round, fell into a tie for second after the second round and rallied to win the event on the final day. Lindsay Gahm of LSU won the individual championship with an 11 under par total of 205. She carded scores of 68-68-69 and was the only golfer in the 81-player field to card scores in the 60's in each of the three rounds of tournament.

"We are close, we are really close," said head coach Amy Bond. "We do have a lot of things to work on in the offseason. We have to get better from 100 yards in and we have to make more putts. We are on the right track to becoming a very consistent team."

Kuhlo (Tallahassee, Fla.) capped her career-best performance with a 2-over par score of 74 in the final round and a three round total of 219. She carded scores of 69-76-74 and played nearly flawless golf in the third round. Kuhlo counted scores of par or better on 16 of the 18 holes she played with consecutive streaks of nine and six holes scored at par or better during the round.

"I think this was the boost that Carlton needs to really get herself on a really good path," said Bond. "This was the best week of her career and I know there are many great things ahead for her."

Kuhlo closed the event with eight birdies and 38 holes scored at par during the round. She carded 46 of her 54 holes played at par or better and was never more than four strokes over par during the tournament. Kuhlo was never more than two strokes over par in the third and final round.

Freshman Anna Sophia Böhmer (Cali, Colombia) continued to play well in her freshman season as she carded a 1 over par score of 73 in the final round. She was nearly perfect in the final round with 17 holes played at par - her only blemish (a bogey on the par three hole No. 8) came after 14 consecutive holes played at par. Following her bogey on No. 7, she regained her composure and closed the round with three consecutive holes scored at par.

Böhmer finished in a tie for 38th place in the individual standings with a career best tournament score of 220 (+4)

Junior Laure Castelain (Bordeaux, France) and freshman Lydia Gumm (Radcliff, Ky.) also closed out their respective seasons with scores of 1 over par 73. For Castelain her score of 73 was the second best of her fall season while the score of 73 for Gumm ranks as the best single round score or her career and her 225 tournament score also ranks as her best of the season.

Florida State opens its spring season at the Florida Challenge at the Black Diamond Golf Club in Lecanto, Fla., on Jan. 28, 2014.
