KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (seminoles.com) - Florida State's Jessica Negron is tied for ninth place the individual standings and the Florida State women's golf team is in ninth place in the team standings with one round remaining to be played at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championship at the Holston Hill Country Club. Negron will begin play in Sunday's third and final round looking to earn the seventh top 10 individual finish of her career.

Penn State holds the team lead with a one stroke advantage over Tennessee. The Lady Lions finished with a 291 team score in the second round to tie with Texas A&M for the second best team score of the second round behind only Tennessee's team score. Laura Wearn of Furman carded one of seven sub-par rounds and moved into the individual lead with a 5 over par score of 139. She holds a three stroke lead over Hana Lee of Northwestern who held the individual lead after the first round.

The Seminoles will look to earn their second consecutive top 10 team finish after earning a 10th place finish at the GolfWeek Challenge to begin the fall season.

Negron (Ocala, Fla.) carded two birdies and 13 more holes at par in finishing with a 1 over par score of 73. She has a two round total of 145 and is in a tie for ninth in the individual standings. She was 1 under par over the final 11 holes of the round with two birdies, eight holes scored at par and only one bogey. Negron has played her last 27 holes of the tournament at 1 over par with three birdies.

Freshman Olivia Hullert (Baerum, Norway) is the second ranked of the five Seminoles in the event with a two-day total of 151. She carded a 74 in the first round and has five birdies over the course of the first 36 holes of the event. Hullert was 2 under par with two birdies and four more holes scored at par over her final six holes of the second round.

Florida State closes out play in the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Championship on Sunday with a third round of 18 holes.
