FRANKLIN, Tenn. (seminoles.com) - Florida State's Maria Salinas played her best round of the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship as she carded a 79 in the third round and is in a tie for 121st place with one round remaining to be played and the Legends Course at Vanderbilt University. She has carded scores of 80-80-79 for a total of 239 through her first three rounds. Salinas will play her final round of collegiate golf for the Seminoles on Friday to bring to a close an outstanding career of one of the most colorful and talented players in the history of the program.

Salinas began her day well with a birdie on her first hole - the par four hole No. 10. It would be one of three birdies she would card on the day - with three birdies in a single round ranking as he personal high for the first three rounds of the four round tournament. She closed out her round with a birdie on the par five hole No. 9 - the third time in the first three rounds of the tournament that she has earned a birdie on that hole. It marked the second time (in both the second and third rounds) that she birdied her final hole of the round.

Salinas will close out her participation in her third career NCAA Championship Finals beginning at 1:48 p.m. (EST) from hole No. 10 for the third consecutive day. She will play in the final threesome of her collegiate career with Kelsy Vines of Oklahoma State and Margarita Ramos of Arizona.

No. 2 ranked Alabama continued to hold the lead in the team standings though its lead grew shorter as No. 3 ranked Southern California moved to within twostrokes of the Crimson Tide with 18 holes remaining to be played. Alabama, Southern Cal and Purdue will play in the final group of the championship and will tee off from hole No. 1 at 1:56 p.m. (EST) in the battle for the national team championship. Chirapat Jao-Javanil of Oklahoma and Giulia Molinaro of Arizona State are tied for first in the individual standings heading into the final round.

A live video webcast is available on Friday on NCAA.com. Holes No. 9 and 18 will be streamed live the final two days of the championships in addition to a 30 minute recap that will be provided once play has concluded at the end of the competition.
