Sophomore Macarena Silva shot a 75 and is in a tie for 32nd place and the Seminole women's golf team is in 17th place after the first round of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Course. Silva finds herself only five strokes out of the lead with two rounds to play in one of the most power-packed women's collegiate golf tournaments of the spring season.
No. 2 ranked Arizona State has a one stroke lead over Arkansas in the team race and there is a six-way tie for first place in the individual standings. The six golfers who are tied for first in the individual standings all shot identical scores of two-under par 70.
Caroline Westrup, Florida State's three-time All-American shot a 77 and is in a tie for 51st place in the individual standings.
