GAINESVILLE, Fla. (seminoles.com) - Florida State seniors Jessica Negron and Malin Jansson are tied for ninth in the individual standings and the Seminole women's golf team is in a tie for ninth in the team standings with one round of the Lady Gator Invitational on the Mark Bostick Golf Course at the University of Florida remaining to be played. The Seminoles enter the final round looking to move up and earn their third top five team finish in the first three events of the spring season.

No. 3 ranked Alabama, the highest of the seven top 25 ranked teams in the field, moved into first place in the team standings and holds a three stroke lead over No. 5 ranked Florida and No. 4 ranked Oklahoma. Oklahoma, the team leader after the first round, fell into a tie for second place position and is three strokes behind Alabama and tied with the host Gators. Chirapat Jao-Javanil of Oklahoma is the individual leader; she holds a two stroke lead of Portland Rosen of Virginia.

The Seminoles are one of four teams - also Alabama, Oklahoma and Virginia - with multiple players in the top 10 of the individual standings.

Negron (Ocala, Fla.) and Jansson (Nykvarn, Sweden) are tied for ninth in the individual standings with identical two round scores of 155. Negron has carded scores of 70 and 75 while Jansson has carded scores of 71 and 74. The two players are a total of five over par during the first two rounds of play.

Negron carded a 75 and finished with 13 holes scored a par in Saturday's second round. She carded 11 of her final 13 holes at par including seven straight holes of par to close out the round. Negron has carded 30 of her first 36 holes of the tournament at par or better.

Jansson carded the best score of the second round for the Seminoles - a four over par 74. She birdied her first hole of the afternoon, moved to as many as 2 strokes under par during the round and pared her final four holes of the afternoon.

Negron will play for her second consecutive and ninth career top 10 finish while Jansson plays for her seventh career top 10 finish when play in the final round begins on Sunday. The Seminoles will play with North Carolina and Baylor in the third pairing of the third and final round.
