GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Florida State sophomore Jaclyn Burch carded a 76 and moved into a tie for 19th place in the individual standings and the Seminole women's golf team moved up one position in the team standings and is in a tie for 13th place after the second round of competition in the Lady Gator Invitational at the University of Florida Golf Course. Burch and teammate Whitney Brummett are in the top 20 in the individual standings (tied for 19th) and the Seminoles begin play in the third round only seven strokes from moving into the top 10 in the team standings.

Wake Forest, ranked No. 18 nationally, continued to hold its lead in the team standings as the Demon Deacons increased their advantage to eight strokes over Auburn. Duke, the nation's No. 1 ranked team, is in fourth place - 11 strokes behind Wake Forest. Christine Hallstrom, a Wake Forest senior, is the individual leader with a two-day total of 145.

Burch (Wildwood, Mo.) led the Seminoles with her second consecutive score of 76. She played 12 of her 18 holes at par or below in the second round. Burch begins play in the third round looking to earn the fourth top-20 finish of her career. Her career best finish of tied for 15th came in the Florida State hosted ACC/SEC Challenge during the fall of 2004.

Brummett (Eureka, Mo.) continued to play as one of the top freshmen in the ACC as she carded a 77 and has a two-day total of 152. She is in position to earn the third top-20 finish of her career. Brummett earned a career-best tie for fourth place finish at the Lady Paladin Invitational during the fall of 2004.

Junior Caroline Larsson (Danderyd, Sweden) played her best round of the first two days of the event as she finished with a score of 77. She improved her score by five strokes and has a 36-hole total of 159. Sophomore Michelle Steakin (Wellington, Fla.) and freshman Whitney Wright (Rockingham, N.C.) are also competing for the team in the Seminoles' first event of the spring season.

The event concludes with an 8 a.m. start Sunday morning.
